THE MOUNTAINEER’S REMEDIES :

HIGH ALTITUDE SICKNESS :

Coca ( Erythroxylon coca – origin in South America and is considered to be the divine plant of the Incas ): The main mountaineer's remedy. Useful in a variety of complaints. incidental to mountain climbing, such as palpitation, dyspnoea, anxiety and insomnia. Exhausted nervous system from physical and mental strain 
                                                           
Here Arnica and Arsenic are also indicated.

Other medicines which are friendly to mountaineers are:

Agaricus: For frost bites and chilbilans

Conium And Sepia: Both have aggravation during Snowy weather

Calcarea carb Rhustox, Formica, Lycopodium, Phosphorus, Silicea they too have aggravation during snowy weather.

While Arsenic album, Glonoine, Antim Crudum, Aconite are indicated when ailments are caused by bright light of Snow .

In all medicines for mountain sickness are Aconite, Arsenic, Arnica, Calcarea, Carbo veg, Coca, Silicea, Opium, Lachesis, Natrum mur etc.

Complaints after Ascending high in mountains are Medorrhinum, Tuberculinum, Oleander, Convallaria and spigellia
