-: AURUM METALLICUM :-
Aurum met is prepared from the Gold , one of the Noble metal . The main theme here is the Performance , Duty consciousness , Responsibility and Honesty ; once these are disturbed or failed then comes the Depression & Loathing of life and followed by Suicidal tendency .
So , here the feeling is that the person must perform the tasks which are generally impossible or much beyond his capacity . But convicted they are more capable than others . They are Workaholic , attain high position in Society with their efforts . Aurum is a Diligent person .
He demands of himself Industry and Responsibility , Conscientiousness and Duty of the Highest degree , Uncompromising Principles or Goals that are beyond the possible .
They are Honest , Correct , Well Educated , Disciplined and Highly Ambitious ; at the same time Sensitive , Refined , Easily Hurt , Sensitive to any Criticism . They are Introverted , don’t share Emotions , Serious with a touch of Sadness . Emotional weakness , Mentally Strong , Out-bursts of temper .
He almost destroys himself in trying to achieve these goals , because if he doesn’t achieve them , he gets the feeling of failure , Guilt and Despair of Salvation . It is as if his very Survival depended on his ability to take on these Hugh responsibilities . He is afraid of loosing the confidence of others & himself . He has a feeling that he may fall down from his high position , this can make him Suicidal .
A/F Grief , humiliation , from Business reversal , Self reproach . Feels Worthless , Incapable . Fear or Failure , Forsaken feeling . Delusion lost Affection of Friends , Strong Sobbing or Moaning during sleep at night .
He has a Strong sense of right or wrong - “ Anxiety , Conscience of ” , and the wrong doing of others provoke his anger . He is thus Critical . He sets high standards for himself , as well as others ( Employees , Siblings etc., ) . He is very punctual , If we delay him in our waiting room , he may quarrels and reproaches and asks or advises us to maintain the Time .
Aurum people are highly Moralistic , principled and Orthodox . They are usually relieved tremendously by Music and mainly of Religious music ; Bhajans and Devotional songs , which are rhythmic .
The first thing we will notice in an Aurum patient is that he is neat in appearance , Conservatively dressed in an old fashion , Sometimes with a religious mark on his forehead . He is very punctual in his appointments , maintains the Case form or prescription very neatly , he brings all his medical reports filed in sequence , date wise , and he has taken the medicines scrupulously , not missing out even a single dose . He has been checking up on his health very regularly . He describes his ailments correctly - date wise and talks confidently , not too much ( Sulph ) , and not too little ( Ars ) .
In his work he is very meticulous , Careful about every smallest thing also , he is a perfectionist , will work late , check the last file , count the last penny . He is very much trusted and valued by his Employer and Colleagues , very honest . He doesn’t seek money , power or fame . He is happy to have done his duty perfectly . He values appreciation , but that is not his aim .
They may have fixed Ideas about their duties ( future ) ; Like if they have been taught by their Parent that - after his responsibilities are over ( fulfilled ) , of family , work etc., He should turn to Social service or Religious activities . So , they follow the same ., It is mainly the sense of duty , honesty more than the Sympathy .
Aurum is having very good Parent n Child relationship or Affection , even if they don’t have children , they adopt a child mainly of opposite sex . The attachment is so strong that he must see the child everyday or at least hear their voice etc ., and that child or that growing person should also obey him and loves him same , follow & do according to his wishes . And if at any point of time that person refuses or rebels then their heart is broken , and experiences mortification , humiliation , Anger with indignation , tremendous depression , Sadness , Forsaken feeling , Disappointment , highly irritable and finally Suicidal .
When he gets suicidal thoughts , he doesn’t have to fight with himself like Nat-s . Aurum will make a decision and act . He asks himself “ Do I jump or not ” , if the answer is ‘ yes ’ - he just jumps .
The idea of dying brings relief , almost joy . “ Cheerful – death , while thinking of ” and “ Begging the God for death ” , these are two important rubrics .
All the affections natural to healthy man are perverted . So great in extent is that one of the fundamental loves which is the love of living of Self-protection is perverted and he loathes life , is weary of life , longs to die and seeks methods to commit Suicide . No love of life .
Aurum’s main theme is where “ his survival is dependent on fulfilling his duty ” . For example : Aurum is the eldest Son of the family , where his father is no more . Society will blame him if he doesn’t take charge of his family and mainly his siblings ; He takes the responsibility , and raises his family with his hard work n duty bound nature .
He is just concerned about how he appear to himself , and so he always checks whether he has done things right or not . Since his survival depends on this , and not on how he appears to other people . His value systems are very strict and he imposes the same values on others , “ Dictatorial ” , and he is “ Intolerant of contradiction ” .
Even sometimes Aurum is also having different picture - of Negative impact ; like “ finding the task too high ” . Delusion neglected his duty , has done wrong . Everything will fail , he is unfit for the world etc., Emotions become still , cool , hard . Praying with weeping ; Despair of Salvation , then he becomes irresponsible , immoral with extreme guilt and the Suicidal tendency . He alternates between “ I am highly moral ” and “ I am highly immoral and have sinned away the day of grace ” , is not worthy of Salvation ; this is the constant thought . The thought really becomes uncontrollable ; he is absorbed in him-self and sits & broods over it , he only intensifies his present state and hatches new grievances continues to worry over him-self , thinks he is wholly unfit for this world and then he longs to die .
He looks on the dark-side of everything , constantly expecting bad news , looking for everything to go wrong . The future looks dark to him and he wants to die ; he never will succeed for , everything goes wrong that he turns his hand to .
They are having fears - of heart disease , hypochondriacal humor , fear of high places , of crowd ; Forgetfulness .
He often talks & answers in questions . He is easily disappointed with others just as with himself ; Nostalgia ; Hopelessness . Suicidal impulses ; esp. Jumping from high places . Suicidal even from severe nocturnal pains .

Majority of the patients they have knobby nose tip .
Loco motor Ataxia ; Paralysis etc., Cramp like contractions in abdomen . Vertigo when stooping , has to lye down . Over sensitive to Pain , mainly the nocturnal pains . Exostosis .
