Govt. of Kerala enhanced teachers quota for post graduation & included non clinical departments
In a significant step Govt. of Kerala enhanced teachers quota for post graduation & gives permission to teachers of non clinical departments to join for post graduation in Materia Medica, Repertory and Organon of Medcine. Since regular PG is a must in Kerala for AICTE/UGC scale salary and promotions.
Without regular PG teachers will get only state scale of salary.
Number of seats enhanced in the case of three private homeopathy college teachers also.
There are 5 seats reserved for the Govt. College Teacher’s Quota as follows.
1 seats in Materia Medica, 2 seats in Homoeopathic Philosophy, 2 seats in Case Taking & Repertorisation. Option of the subject will be allowed only for the teachers of concerned subject.
If there is no sufficient applicant in the concerned subject, the teachers who have taken other subject where there is no P.G. (ie. Department Pharmacy, Practice of Medicine, Anatomy, Physiology & Biochemistry, Community Medicine (SPM), Gynecology, Surgery, Forensic Medicine & Toxicology and Pathology) can be opted for the above seats. College will be same where
they are working.
There are 5 seats reserved for the teachers of the private Homoeopathic Medical Colleges as specified below. One seat in Materia Medica and one seat in Homoeopathic Philosophy are allotted to Dr. Padiar Memorial Homoeo College, Chottanikkara, and one seat in Homoeopathic Philosophy is allotted to Shree Vidyadhiraja Homoeo Medical College, Nemom, Thiruvananthapuram and one seat in Materia Medica and one seat in Casetaking & Repertorisation is allotted to ANSS Homoeopathic Medical College, Kottayam.
Admission to Teachers Quota for the Teachers in Government and Aided Homoeopathic Medical Colleges will be based on the common seniority in service, irrespective of the department in which the teachers are posted now. One seat will be set apart for the Doctors who served in rural areas as per CCH norms.
Out of 36 seats 10 seats will be reserved for teachers, so that with in a span of 3-5 years entire homeopathy teachers of kerala can be a part of regular MD rather than External MD which is not approved in Kerala so far.
All Kerala Homeopathic postgraduate teachers association president congratulated the Govt. of Kerala for providing facility to take regular MD to teachers in other subjects irrespective of the department in which they belongs - since the non clinical department has no facility so far to take regular MD.

Rs.25 crore for the Homoeopathy sector in Kerala 2011-12
Govt. Of Kerala today announced Rs.25 crore for the development of homeopathy sector for the financial year 2011-12
50 per cent of the allocation for Homoeopathy is for the Medical Education Department
Rs.4 crore to HOMCO - Homeopathic Co-operative pharmacy.
Enhanced the monthly stipend to Postgraduate Students with retrospective effect from 1-1-2011.
They will get an increased stipend of Rs.23,000 in the first year, Rs.24,000 in the second year and Rs. 25,000 in the third year.
Opening new homeo dispensaries : 2 Crore
Seethalayam women health care centre : 45 Lakhs
Maintenance of dispensories : 2 crores
Establishing Temperory dispensories : 2 crore
For Homeopathy hospitals : 1 crore
CME : 16 Lakhs
Computerization of dispensaries & modernisation : 80 Lakhs
