Homeopathy and The Memory of Water with Benveniste Defies Randi

I am bringing it up because it does not fade. It only builds. More evidence and researchers are coming to conclude that there is something special to water. Plain water. It has remained a mystery. Many properties define the laws of nature for all other substances. Spiritually, it is used for many rituals. It is a vital part of keeping us alive. 
 
The video shows the astonishment of Dr Benveniste when the experiment was conducted. The hypothesis that water diluted to such a degree would show no response or effects. However, there could be no other explanation. From this point we must continue investigation and get a better understanding. 
 
When the skeptic Randi comes on to the scene to make a mockery of this news, he does not adhere to the rules of objectivity and the scientific method. There are no checks and balances and carries on with an attitude of mockery, superiority, and chicanery as is his magician's style. 
 
DIALOGUE OF THE VIDEO WITH EDITORIAL NOTES 
 
For 14 years Benveniste investigated into allergies. He thought it was a joke when a colleague suggested homeopathy had any effects. It was going too far, for a rationalistic person who was classically trained medical physician. 
 
This film says homeopathy is widely used in France, but that few doctors prescribed it. They say it is irrational to believe that the more diluted a substance the more effective it could be. Homeopathic remedies also are repeatedly diluted and shaken/succussed. 
 
The moderator asks, "Why did Benveniste think it worth investigate?" 
 
Perhaps because a true investigative unbiased scientist questions what he does not understand and then pursues the answer. 
 
A colleague, who was homeopathic doctor, said to try diluting the reagents used in their lab tests and see themselves if there can be a reaction. That was in 1982 or 1983. Benveniste said there was nothing there after all the dilution. However, initial tests said it was something. He couldn't believe 
 
He wanted to be sure and had his assistant Elizabeth retest. 
 
Homeopaths believe shaking energizes water. Homeopaths actually 'succuss' which is a strong tapping motion. And once the substance has risen above the 20th dilution, nothing left of starting substance. They administered the highest dilutions to blood samples. Of course, he did not expect any reaction by the histamine basophyles from the reagent that was highly diluted.

He says his assistant found results were the same as after an application of the full strength reagent. The second set of data made him question his own belief. Nothing can make these basophyls degranulate on their own. The tests were supposedly done in the research lab under quality conditions. 
 
How could anything make a change? it was just water. He needed to know more. even after 2-3 years of research. even diluting a billion billion times. His explanation was the memory of water. Even with this dilution the water still knew the original substance. 
 
Scientists submit their research to Nature magazine to publish to the entire scientific community. Sometimes things that cannot be explained are rejected outright. So, they were not going to publish. Benveniste said he compared himself to Galileo. 
 
Nature agreed to publish on conditions a team would investigate the lab. The results were a condemnation of his work in June 1988. 
 
He agreed for the committee to visit the lab, since there was nothing to hide. That is when he found out the people selected were impostures and not scientists. Walter Stewart, James Randi and John Maddox. Their "intention" was to uncover fraud and so this is exactly what they did. It was all a set up. 
 
If they couldn't find a way to find something wrong with Benveniste, they put the blame on his staff and assistance. They gave an explanation that there was bias in the lab, because they were looking for results and so that is what they found. 
 
It is strange that this works both ways. The committee was looking for a way to dismiss the actual findings. Therefore, they claimed the lab assistants were looking for a way to explain their results, by reproducing the same lab findings over the course of 2-3 years. 
 
I always find it amazing how the two opposites seem to attract and one cancels out the other. Then he says Elizabeth did not enter the experiments that did not work and filled in papers afterwards. This is a game of He Said, She Said. 
 
Benveniste says that the committee investigation was fixed before they started. They dismissed the entire project after one failure, and they were automatically prejudiced by using their own people instead of a completely impartial group of research scientists. 
 
James Randi and friends were doing a witch hunt, and then "Nature" rejected the paper. The reason given is that if this were true, then the world of science would have to change. 
 
And this is what is happening today.

Through the application of homeopathically prepared remedies ~ diluted and succussed substances that were applied to blood cells ~ there were results indicative of molecular substance. However, based upon the dilution level, there are supposedly no molecules left in the dilution. There is no explanation. It is quite surprising to the scientists that there could be a change in the blood. 
 
Dr. Jacques Benveniste states the "structure" of biochemicals can be impressed on water electrically using white noise and coils and that the water will display some of the activity of the original biochemical. 
 
This information comes from the YouTube document: The experiment can be reproduced by winding two coils around a test tube containing a water solution having a particular biochemical. Play white noise into one coil, sense the modified white noise via the other coil. A sort of "water-core transformer," with the water containing the chemical being studied. Transmit the "modified" white-noise to a distant location (or record it, then mail the recording to the distant location, or send it as a digitized .wav file over the internet.) 
 
Bandwidth must be about 22KHz, perhaps lower. At the distant location (where cross-contamination is unlikely) play the modified white-noise signal into a coil that's wrapped around a test tube full of pure water. Shake the tube during this process, otherwise the water supposedly won't "record" the pattern reliably. Test for presence of the original biochemical. 
 
See if the pure water will cause appropriate reactions in sensitive bio-materials. Alternately: play the modified white noise signal into a coil wrapped around the bio-sensitive material itself and see if it has any effect.

The Law of Similars 
 
The principle that like shall be cured by like, or "Similia similibus curantur." This principle, recognized by physicians and philosophers since ancient times, became the basis of Hahnemann's formulation of the homeopathic doctrine: the proper remedy for a patient's disease is that substance that is capable of producing, in a healthy person, symptoms similar to those from which the patient suffers. 
 
In other words, a substance produces symptoms of illness in a well person when administered in large doses; if we administer the same substance in minute quantities, it will cure the disease in a sick person. Hahnemann suggested that this is because nature will not allow two similar diseases to exist in the body at the same time. Thus homeopaths will introduce a similar artificial disease into the body which will push the original one out. The dose is small so that there is no danger of any long term side effects.

Overview of Reactor Problems in Japan — Homeopathic Remedies and Nutrients for Radiation Symptoms

Abstract 
 
Homeopathic prevention of problems from radiation exposure after the earthquake, tsunami and impending nuclear disaster in Japan. 
 
Reactor type and fuel rods 
First, we shall examine the type of reactor involved, so that we shall have a good understanding of the requirements for detoxification. Below is also a time-line of the developments. 
Fukushima # 3 uses MOX, a different, Plutonium based fuel to the low-enriched uranium oxide fuel for which most nuclear reactors was designed. MOX fuel tends to run hotter because of lower thermal conductivity, which may be an issue in some reactor designs i.e. the use of MOX does change the operating characteristics of a reactor, and the plant must be designed or adapted slightly to take it. More control rods are needed; who OK’d the use of MOX without modifying all plant systems (especially emergency cooling)? Are any other similar plants using MOX now? 
 
Meltdown – Causes & Results 
“There is a possibility of a meltdown,” said Toshihiro Bannai, director of the agency’s international affairs office, in a telephone interview from the agency’s headquarters in Tokyo. “At this point, we have still not confirmed that there is an actual meltdown, but there is a possibility.” 
 
(Meanwhile, the meltdown of one reactor is already a fact). 
 
A meltdown is a catastrophic failure of the reactor core, with a potential for widespread radiation release. Though Bannai said engineers have been unable to get close enough to the core to know what’s going on, he based his conclusion on the fact that they measured radioactive 
isotopes in the air Saturday night.

“What we have seen is only the slight indication from a monitoring post of Cesium and Iodine,” he said. Since then, he said, plant officials have injected sea water and Boron into the plant in an effort to cool its nuclear fuel and stop any reactions. 
 
“We have some confidence, to some extent, to make the situation to be stable status,” he said. “We actually have very good confidence that we will resolve this.” 
Here we have the spin-doctor, trying to talk down the real risk and protecting the politicians and industry people, while simultaneously trying to give the impression all is under control, while the reality on the ground dictates a different scenario. 
 
Expert: ‘This Is A Serious Situation’ 
A state of emergency has been declared for this reactor and two other reactors at the same complex, which holds a total of six reactors, he said. Three are in a safe, shut-down state, he said. “The other two still have some cooling systems, but not enough capacity.” 
“What we have seen is only the slight indication from a monitoring post of cesium and iodine,” he said. ”The authorities have informed the IAEA that the three reactor units at the Onagawa nuclear power plant are under control.” 
 
With the loss of power at reactor 3, and with its valves and pumps damaged by the tsunami, emergency workers were pumping in seawater mixed with Boron – which disrupts nuclear chain reactions – to cool the rods. 
 
But this creates a build-up of radioactive steam containing hydrogen which must be vented to relieve pressure inside the reactor vessel – risking a blast. 
“At the risk of raising further public concern, we cannot rule out the possibility of an explosion,” Mr. Edano said, according to the AP news agency. “If there is an explosion, however, there would be no significant impact on human health.” 
More spin, to diminish the fact that one reactor has blown its top, so to speak. Three explosions have occurred in reactor 3, and this is the one now in meltdown. 
 
Japan quake: Fears of Meltdoown 
 
There is a risk of a second explosion at the quake-hit Fukushima power station, Japanese officials have said. That risk has become reality and the third explosion has also occurred. However, chief cabinet secretary Yukio Edano said the facility could withstand the impact and the nuclear reactor itself would not be damaged. 
Technicians are frantically battling to cool reactor 3 following a blast at the building housing reactor 1 on Saturday. A state of emergency has also been declared at the Onagawa plant to the north of Fukushima. 
 
The first – or lowest – state of emergency was reported by Tohoku Electric Power Company, said the UN nuclear watchdog, the IAEA. It was declared “as a consequence of radioactivity readings exceeding allowed levels in the area surrounding the plant. Japanese authorities are investigating the source of radiation,” the IAEA said on its website. 
 
Scale of nuclear accidents 
* Level 7 – Major release of radioactive material. Example: Chernobyl, Ukraine, 1986 
 
* Level 6 – Significant release of radioactive material. Example: Kyshtym, Russia, 1957 
 
* Level 5 – Limited release of radioactive material. Example: Three Mile Island, US, 1979, and Windscale, UK, 1957 
 
* Level 4 – Minor release of radioactive material with at least one death from radiation. Example: Tokaimura, Japan, 1999 
 
* Level 3 – Exposure in excess of 10 times the statutory annual limit for workers 
 
* Level 2 – Exposure of a member of the public in excess of 10mSv (average annual dose is 1mSv) 
 
* Level 1 – Exposure of a member of public above statutory annual limit. Minor safety problems

* Struggle to stabilise plant 
 
“The authorities have informed the IAEA that the three reactor units at the Onagawa nuclear power plant are under control.” 
Oh how they wish. The spin-doctors have started their “reassurances”. 
 
Possible Remedies 
From this information, we can determine which is the best remedy to use for radiation sickness. It will be Plutonium nitricum, being the closest similimum. 
 
Other remedies useful for radiation sickness: 
Radium bromatum. Uranium nitricum. Plutonium nitricum and X-ray. Use low potencies, dilute in water and give daily repetition during exposure. Of course those remedies must be prescribed on individuality. It is either/or, not and/and. 
Also – Iodine supplements will prevent radiation from binding to your cells because the iodine will bind first. Begin two days ahead of exposure if possible plus vitamin C (someone recommended clay also) . Potassium iodide in material doses as a supplement should also be adequate to protect the thyroid. Further, Selenium is a supplement useful in thyroid protection. 
That is useful for those living further away. For those already exposed in Tokyo Bay, the above remedies should be taken first and this recommendation should be supplemented. 
 
Thyroid Reactions 
Anyone with Hyper/Hypothyroidism due to radiation needs to redouble their efforts to rapidly cleanse the system. The thyroid gland is key to overall health. Produces T3 & T4 hormones (Iodine atoms). Iodine helps regulate metabolism in the body. Thyroid synthesizes vital T3 (rare) from T4 (plentiful). The body needs 150 mg per day – 80% comes from T4 conversion to T3 in the Liver. The pituitary gland also plays a role in thyroid function by moderating the production of both T3 and T4 (Iodine atoms). 
 
The hypothalamus in turn regulates pituitary function. The thyroid is weakened and neutralized by processed food and white sugars. All sorts of problems can occur. Diabetes 2 is common amongst the youngest and most vulnerable. T3 & T4 regulate body temperature & metabolic rate of every cell in the body (it regulates biochemical reactivity). There are some other factors one needs to consider also, in cases of radiation sickness, which will exacerbate the symptoms and make the condition worse. 
 
Underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism): An underactive thyroid releases too little T4 and T3 into the bloodstream, causing the metabolism to slow down too much. The most common cause is Hashimoto’s disease. This is an autoimmune condition in which white blood cells and antibodies attack the thyroid gland. If not treated, the metabolism will continue to slow and will ultimately (in 10 to 15 years) lead to death. 90% of Hypothyroidism occurs in women. On average 1/3 of women over 55 have low thyroid. Symptoms of an underactive thyroid include: 
 
* Lethargy and fatigue 
* Feeling cold (even on warm days) 
* Unusual weight gain 
* Depression 
* Reduced concentration (brain fag) 
* Puffiness of the face 
* Hair loss 
* Dry skin 
* Constipation 
* Goitre 
1) Chemicals in environment (PCB, DDT, Herbicides, Insecticides, Fungicides, Lubricants, adhesives) 
2) Chlorine & Fluorine in tap water (Iodine mimics) – leads to hypothyroid. 
3) Polyunsaturated Food Oil (eg. Corn, Soy – Oxidized oils) – which impair T4 to T3 conversion. 
4) Sugar & refined Grains – Carbohydrates convert to Glycogen & Triglycerides, suppress hormone levels. 
5) Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil – Trans-fats inhibit conversion of T4 to T3, and decrease metabolism, leading to low body temperature, which in turn makes the immune response slower.

Later he was attracted to Homoeopathy and took up Homoeopathic practice in 1935. From then on he served in many Homoeopathic Institutions in different capacities as Professor of Homoeopathic Materia Medica and Organon, as Principal of D. N. De Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital, Calcutta and of The Midnapore Homoeopathic Medical College 8r Hospital. Natural Products and Foods That Help Protect Against Radiation

Modern medicine can offer nothing to protect against or prevent the effects of radiation poisoning. The best they have to offer is high doses of iodine, which helps to protect only the thyroid, and the worst of antiobiotics to help check rampant infections in advanced stages of poisoning. In contrast, there are several natural treatments to both limit radiation damage and remove the toxins. Some have been well documented to be effective. 
 
The time to treat radiation poisoning is before it has done any damage. Therefore, two approaches can—and should—be taken. The first is to try to prevent radiation from getting into the body. The second is to try to eliminate it once it has entered. Natural methods can help in both arenas. 
 
Quick Reference for Radiation Prevention and Treatment 
 
Wash the Skin 
We tend to have an image of radiation has something that simply pierces the skin—as if nothing can interfere with its entry into the body. This is not always true. In fact, the worst kind of radiation, alpha, is completely unable to pierce the skin. 
Our skin is our first line of defense against radiation. Therefore, at the first indication that there might be radioactivity in your area, the first thing you should do is take off whatever clothing you're wearing and dispose of it, and then wash yourself well by soaking and using soap. 
 
Protect the Thyroid 
You're probably aware of modern medicine's, and the government's, advice to get iodine—generally in the form of potassium iodide—to take shortly before exposure to radiation. That is helpful for the thyroid, but nothing else. However, we should not take the thyroid's health lightly. Damage to it means that the body's entire energy-generating system is harmed, which will rapidly lead to severe ill health, exhaustion, and death. 
 
The thyroid cannot tell the difference between radioactive and nonradioactive iodine. Therefore, if the thyroid is effectively filled with nonradioactive iodine, then the radioactive variety cannot be absorbed by it. It's simply excreted and does little or no harm. 
Therefore, iodine supplementation is a valuable method for limiting the effects of radioactive iodine. Of course, you may also have noted that there's been a run on it in the US, and in the UK it isn't legally available to the general public. (This, of course, is another example of big brotherism that needs to be stopped!) 
 
There are, however, ways to obtain the needed iodine. You could follow the government's advice by eating Agribusiness food stuff "fortified" with iodine, such as condensed milk, commercial mayonnaise, or a few others. Perhaps someone has tested these so-called foods to see if the "fortified" iodine is actually taken up by the thyroid, but I've yet to see any supporting documentation. It should also be pointed out that milk "fortified" with Vitamin D does not provide much Vitamin D to the body. 
 
Unless an exceptionally large dose of radiation is expected, people over the age of 40 probably shouldn't dose themselves with potassium iodide. They are significantly more likely to have adverse reactions to high doses, and are better served by taking a natural source of iodine. The heartening news, though, is that people over 40 are much less likely to get thyroid cancer, so their risk isn't as great.

</script>Natural Sources of Iodine 
 
The most obvious iodine source in nature is seaweed, especially that of the Laminaria family. The term Kelp generally refers to any member of that family. You can purchase Kelp and other seaweeds from Asian and Chinese groceries, and from many supermarkets. It would be wise to start including it in large quantities in your diet immediately. 
Another good source of iodine is sea fish, especially Scotland's favorite, haddock, which is the single most iodine-rich food known. 
 
However, a more direct and quick method of supplementing iodine in quantities sufficient to sate the thyroid, thus preventing radioactive iodine from obtaining a purchase, is Kelp supplements, which are available in most healthfood and herb shops throughout the US and the EU. 
 
How Much Iodine? 
The generally recommended level of iodine is 125 µg (micrograms) a day. That, though, is nowhere near adequate for normal good health, and certainly isn't good enough to protect your thyroid from radiation. 
 
The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends potassium iodide supplementation at the rate of 130 mg (milligrams) per day to prevent the thyroid's uptake of radioactive iodine. About one-third of potassium iodide is iodine. Therefore, an appropriate single day iodine dosage for prevention is about 43 mg.—a significant amount, which leaves seaweed as a poor source for quickly loading iodine into the thyroid. 
 
Therefore, the only realistic source for iodine to protect against radiation is supplemental Kelp in pills and tablets, such as found in a health food shop. Read the label to determine how much will add up to about 43 milligrams. 
 
Keep in mind that supplementation at this high a level should be done only in radiation emergencies, and only for as long as needed about a day before the radiation arrives. It may help for about a day afterwards, but that's all. 
 
After Exposure: Chelation/Detoxing 
 
After radiation exposure, you do not have to sit back and wait to get sick, worrying about how severe the damage is. This is where natural medicine is light years ahead of allopathy. We don't wait for symptoms. Instead, we learn from prior experience and use that knowledge. Following are methods for detoxing. 
 
One point should be made clear. The term chelation is usually used in reference to removing toxic heavy metals. That is not the case in terms of nuclear radioactivity. While it's certainly true that the radiating materials are heavy metals, the radiation itself never includes the whole atom. It consists of atomic particles and waves. In this context, chelation refers to elimination of excess radioactivity in the body. 
 
Spirulina and Chlorella 
Spirulina and Chlorella are useful for both reducing radiation levels and for improving general health. They are both types of alga highly rich in nutrients. 
 
Spirulina 
Spirulina has been studied in Russia, China, and Belarus. The studies showed different, but related, effects of Spirulina. They include reduction of radioactivity in urine by 50% in children after 20 days, and reduction of Immunogobulin E in children living in radioaactive areas (usually cited as near Chernobyl, but I couldn't document that). They claimed that the blood of all children who received 5 grams of Spirulina per day for 6 weeks was normalized, while that of children who didn't receive Spirulina was unchanged. 
 
Spirulina is a blue-green alga. It thrives in eutrophic, that is, extremely nutrient dense, bodies of water, so it is exceptionally high in many nutrients. Appropriate dosage has not been established. The experience of researchers seems to indicate that 5 mg. per day is safe. However, there have been some indications that its ability to eliminate toxins may put stress on the liver. Therefore, it's important to take a liver detox, such as Milk Thistle, with it. (See Milk Thistle below.) 
 
Chlorella 
Chlorella is often listed along with Spirulina as a radiation chelator or equivalent. While it most assuredly is a superbly nutrient-dense food and is known to ease the effects of chemotherapy, it seems that it's often confused with Spirulina. It is noted for its ability to counter the effects of ultraviolet radiation, the type that causes sunburns, and that is certainly beneficial. However, claims that it's been shown to counter the effects of nuclear-type radiation seem to be based on confusing the studies of Spirulina (documented in the previous section) with Chlorella. 
 
By all means, take Chlorella to improve your health, including after radiation exposure. It is a good general detoxer, noted for its ability to pull pesticides and heavy metals from the body. However, you would be wise to ignore anyone trying to sell it to you as a protector against nuclear radiation. It may be, but there is no evidence to that effect. 
However, if you're looking for a superb nutrient that can help support your body as it battles radiation poisoning, Chlorella has been shown to provide superb support for people being given radiation treatment for cancer. 
 
Kombuchka Tea 
Kombucha Tea is made by fermenting sweet black tea with a pancake-like culture of yeasts and bacteria, which is often called a mushroom, though that's obviously a misnomer. It's an ancient herbal treatment for a wide range of ailments, including cancer, arthritis, digestive disorders, heart disease, asthma, blood pressure drops, and other diseases. It has more recently been documented for its ability to increase vitality, increase T cell counts, and regrow hair. It's believed to stimulate the immune system. 
 
In September 2010, the Journal of Environmental Biology published "Protective effect of kombucha mushroom (KM) tea on chromosomal aberrations induced by gamma radiation in human peripheral lymphocytes in-vitro" documented that Kombuchka Tea protects against the toxicity of gamma radiation by combatting free radicals. The study was performed on human peripheral lymphocytes exposed to 5 Gy gamma radiation. 
 
This is very strong evidence documenting the ability of Kombuchka Tea to detox gamma radiation, a type that is produced by both uranium and plutonium, both of which are used in nuclear power generating stations. 
 
Bentonite Clay and Zeolite 
Both Bentonite Clay and Zeolite have strong and well deserved reputations for detoxing. Both are well noted for their ability to detox heavy metals. Unfortunately, that fact seems to have been used to assume that they can detox radiation. As explained earlier, although radiation comes from heavy metals, the radiation itself is not a metal. It can be either a subatomic particle or a wave, but it is not a complete atom, like metals. 
While it may be true that Bentonite Clay and Zeolite can detox radiation from the body, there is nothing to support the claim. 
 
Milk Thistle 
In any situation in which the liver is asked to do extra duty, providing extra support is advisable. In the case of radiation poisoning, it's even more important. Radiation itself is particularly hard on the liver, and the extra stress placed on it by excessive free radicals makes it even more important. 
 
Fortunately, there is a tried and true herb for liver support. Milk Thistle, also called Silymarin, is commonly available. Its stimulative effect can cause mild adverse effects, including nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, headache, rash, and upset stomach. 
Even people who take nothing else to combat radiation poisoning should consider taking Milk Thistle. It can be the difference between health and sickness. Radiation will certainly put stress on your liver, so protecting it is of paramount concern. 
 
Various Nutrients 
A large number of nutrients and foods are suggested as being helpful in preventing or limiting the effects of nuclear radiation. There is truth in many of those suggestions, but most come with significant problems. First, in acute situations, we aren't looking for slow-acting remedies. Because most of these methods tend to be slower, their symbiotic effects with other nutrients can have confounding results. Nonetheless, here is a list of nutrients noted for their beneficial effect on radiation illness: 
 
Pectin (from any fruit, but most readily separated from apples). There are indications that pectin may reduce radioactivity in the body, but it does not appear to be definitive. 
Calcium is believed to bind radioactivity, but whether it's effective as a radioactivity chelator is unclear. 
 
Vegetable oils (However, it should also be considered that any vegetable oil purchased from a supermarket is hydrogenated, and therefore has an overall negative effect in the body.) 
Buckwheat and millet seeds. 
 
Chlorophyll-rich foods, such as broccoli, green cabbage, and alfalfa, have been documented to counter the effects of radiation, though it seems to be unknown whether it chelates the radiation or simply counters the ill effects. 
Brewers' yeast is noted for countering the effects of radiation, though like chlorophyll-rich foods, it's not known where it counters the ill effects or chelates the radiation. 
Miso soup. It may be that it's beneficial because of high levels of iodine, but miso is well documented to benefit circulation and remove blood clots. 
Nettles, usually made into tea. 
 
Burdock root (Arctium lappa): This item is questionable, as it's known for its ability to eliminate radioactive isotopes from the body, which is not the salient issue in radiation poisoning. 
 
Foods noted for fighting or preventing cancer, such as dried beans (especially lentils and mung beans), cruciferous veggies like broccoli and cabbage, veggies with high levels of beta carotene, black and green teas. 
 
Vitamins and supplements: 
Vitamin E (large doses) 
Vitamin C (large doses) 
Calcium (large doses) 
B complex (Excessive doses should be avoided. The symptoms of overdosing Vitamin B are similar to those for underdosing and can be quite severe.) 
Magnesium (A large percentage of people may be deficient in this important mineral.) 
 
Diet in General 
Do you notice anything about the list of beneficial nutrients for radiation poisoning? They're the same things that you'll find on nearly all lists of particularly healthy foods. That should make the next point quite obvious: The very best way to deal with radiation poisoning is by being healthy in the first place. That means routinely eating health foods and avoiding bad ones, especially processed foods. Sugar, in particular, needs to be avoided when exposed to radiation. 
As can be seen from all the natural products that can be used to improve one's ability to prevent, detox, and overcome the effects of radiation, natural healing methods clearly offer far more than modern medicine's approach of trying to protect a single organ, the thyroid, and then, when the body has lost its ability to care for itself, throwing highly toxic antibiotics at a weakened system.

Homeopathic medications help fight viral infections. This has now been confirmed by in-vitro tests conducted at the Dr. Glatthaar Laboratory in Reutlingen, Germany. Researchers infected epithelial and blood cells with cold viruses under controlled laboratory conditions. Cells that were previously treated with certain homeopathically prepared medications were more resistant and released more interferon than untreated cells. In the study of eczema (dermatitis), there have been 3 good clinical studies published. Keil and colleagues from the Institute for Social Medicine, Epidemiology, and Health Economics in Berlin, Germany studied 118 children suffering from atopic eczema. 54 children were treated with homeopathic medicine and 64 children were treated with conventional dermatology drugs. Both groups were followed for a period of 12 months. Children in both groups had their eczema symptoms improve. Disease-related quality of life improved equally in both groups. However, improvement of eczema as observed by physicians was significantly greater in the homeopathic group (p<0.001). (Keil T, et.al. Complement Ther Med. 2008: Feb; 16(1): 15-21.)

In Japan, Itamura and Hosoya studied 17 patients with intractable atopic dermatitis.  These patients had previously failed conventional dermatological drug therapy.  They were then treated with individualized homeopathic medical therapy, in addition to conventional dermatology therapy.  The study's follow-up period was 6 to 31 months.  The efficacy of homeopathic medicine was measured by objective assessments of the skin condition and the patients' own assessments, using a 9 point scale.  1 patient cleared completely,  7 patients partially cleared (=80% better), and 9 patients partially cleared (=50% better).  Importantly, 5 of 17 patients (29%) were able to stop the use of topical steroid ointments.  (Itamura R, Hosoya R. Homeopathy.  2003: 92; 108-114.)

In an observational study, Witt and colleagues studied 225 children with atopic eczema.  The children were treated with homeopathic medicine and were allowed to also use conventional dermatology drugs.  They were followed for 24 months.  The severity of eczema in these patients improved and the changes in severity assessment were of large effect size.  Reductions in the use of conventional dermatology drugs were observed.  (Witt CM, et.al.  Acta Dermato Venereol.  2009: 89(2); 182-183.

Mousavi and colleagues studied the effectiveness of the homeopathic remedy, Ignatia 30C in the treatment of oral lichen planus, a painful inflammatory dermatological disease.  In this single-blind randomized clinical trial, 30 consecutive patients with oral lichen planus were randomized into two groups:  one group received homeopathic Ignatia and the other group received placebo.  The patients were treated for 4 months.  The results showed that the size of the oral sores decreased significantly in favor of the homeopathic Ignatia treated patients.  Also, the average pain was significantly lower in the homeopathic Ignatia group.  The researchers concluded homeopathic Ignatia has a beneficial effect in the treatment of oral lichen planus in selected patients.  (Mousavi F, et.al.  Homeopathy.  2009: 98, 40-44.)

Pommier, et.al. published a phase III single-blind randomized comparison trial of homeopathic calendula ointment versus trolamine ointment in the prevention of acute radiation dermatitis in women undergoing post-operative radiation treatment for breast cancer. The researchers studied 254 patients. They found that the occurrence of acute radiation dermatitis (grade 2 or higher) was significantly lower (41% versus 63%; p<0.001) in the homeopathically treated calendula ointment group. The homeopathic group also had less frequent interruption of radiation therapy and less radiation-induced pain. The researchers concluded that homeopathic calendula ointment is highly effective for the prevention of acute radiation dermatitis of grade 2 or higher. (Pommier P, et.al. J Clin Oncol. 2004: 1447-1453.)

In an animal model study, de Paula Coelho and colleagues evaluated the homeopathic remedy Dolichos pruriens in the treatment of heat-induced itching in laboratory rats. The researchers found that in this blinded study, homeopathic Dolichos pruriens significantly demonstrated therapeutic effects in the inhibition of itching. The homeopathic remedy had no adverse effects. It is possible that the homeopathic remedy Dolichos pruriens could potentially be useful in humans with generalized itching without an eruption (e.g. "itching of unknown origin"). A single homeopathic medicine converts a skeptical doctor

(NaturalNews) James Compton Burnett (1840 - 1901) is one of the big names in homoeopathy. His practice was legendary, with more patients than most doctors can manage, let alone homoeopaths (who take much longer to assess their patients). He took copious notes and his case studies of successfully treated people are still available. But he wasn't always passionate about homeopathy. At one time, he was a highly skeptical doctor. 
 
It all started on a dull, dreary afternoon when he was on duty in the hospital, writing death certificates. He suddenly felt, for the umpteenth time, a great dissatisfaction of his clinical results. A young waif, Georgie, had died. He didn't have a home, so the hospital has taken him in. He had just died of pleurisy. 
 
That evening, Burnett poured out his troubles to a friend. He was contemplating leaving medicine and England and traveling to America to farm. 
 
Somehow his friend persuaded him to study homoeopathy first.

But Burnett was highly skeptical. He didn't feel there was any chance he could become a homeopath. So he decided to study it to expose it as a lying sham. At least that would get him peer approval. 
 
At some early stage in his studies, he decided to conduct an experiment on his wards, to prove his point. He put a few drops of an indicated remedy in a large bottle of water and gave it to the nurse of the children's ward with instructions to give it to all the children on one side of the ward, but not to those on the other side. Those on the other side were to be treated normally. 
 
The next morning he discovered that all the children, who had been treated homeopathically, were free from fever and playing on their beds. Those on the other side were the same or worse. 
 
And so it went on day after day. He was simply dumbfounded and couldn't accept what was happening. 
 
Eventually, it was a nurse who made him see what was apparent to everyone else. He was unable to do his usual rounds for two days. On returning to the hospital, the nurse of the children's ward seemed rather quiet. 
 
She informed Burnett that all the children were well and could be dismissed. 
 
On further enquiry, the nurse explained: 
 
"Well, doctor, I gave your medicine to all the children. I had not the heart to see you go on with your cruel experiments any longer. You are like all the young doctors that come here - you are only trying experiments." 
 
History is littered with other doctors who were skeptical of homeopathy, decided to study it to expose it, and ended up passionate converts. 
 
When the indicated homeopathic medicine is used appropriately, great results can be expected.

Homeopathic Treatment for Radiation Exposure

Homeopathy has an impressive and extensively documented record with voluminous studies showing its efficacy. It's been widely used in hundreds of hospitals and clinics for over 200 years. So, many count on its ability to protect from and treat even the most virulent pathologies. 
 
In light of what's taking place in Japan, I compiled the following information from homeopaths around the world: Israel, India, England, the Netherlands, and Canada. 
 
These remedies have been used before, during and after an atomic explosion. Some of these remedies are more difficult to find while some are common to most household kits. All of them are capable, so only one or two are needed. 
 
Pass on this information as it could protect many: 
 
Cadmium sulph 30 or Potassium iodide 30 taken once before and once after an atomic explosion. These are generally used before symptoms appear, but can be used after as well. 
Cobaltum 30C has been known to remove side effects of radiation by taking it four times in one day for 2-3 days. Then an assessment is taken to determine if more is needed and how often. If needed from that point, it is generally used four times in one day every two weeks for 2-3 months. In the hands of a skilled homeopath, this remedy may be used in a 200C potency. 
Radium bromatum 30C has been used when skin eruptions or arthritis appear. Generally, take it twice daily if mild, or up to 5 times per day if more severe. It has been used for as long as many weeks, but as always, under the watchful eye of a skilled homeopath.

Arsenicum album 30C in repeated doses every few minutes to half an hour, for approximately 1-2 days, then as needed depending on symptoms. 
Phosphorus 30C, 200C, and 1M, one after the other in the same fashion as Arsenicum. Together these have a history of being a very useful 1st aid. 
Calc fluor 12C and Natrum muriaticum 6C thrice daily for months after exposure. More frequently, if necessary. regardless of which other remedies are chosen from above, these two remedies have a way of helping the body eliminate toxins in tandem with the other remedies. 
Until and in Addition to Homeopathic Remedies 
 
Here's a tip from my friend and colleague, Dr. Kaayla Daniel. She suggests that as soon as radioactive exposure is apparent, pour one cup each of baking soda and salt into a hot bath. Submerge and soak for as long as the water stays warm. Don't add more warm or hot water to the bath unless all of the water is drained and then begin again if the exposure is particularly high.

PTSD Homeopaths Learning From New Zealand and Haiti Earthquake Disaster

What does repeated impact of watching and hearing news reports all day, every day have on the psyche? 
 
No where on this planet has there been a disaster of such magnitude, it will take much to organize. 
 
In New Zealand at the moment, we recognise that not only the people of Christchurch suffered the anxiety and PTSD, but most new Zealanders are suffering to some degree due to the amazing media coverage we had here, which was all day every day. 
 
Moving to higher ground 
Christchurch victims travelled away from the area to family and friends to places in NZ where there were no earthquakes happening. 
 
Free Health Care Provided By Homeopaths 
In NZ the registered body of Homeopaths, have and are still providing free consultations and remedies to ANYONE affected by the earthquake ie victims relocated out of Chch, families of victims killed, aid workers, school children who have nightmares from seeing this happening on TV etc. 
 
Donations Given 
Several Homeopathic pharmacies and flower essence companies donated many thousands of dollars of remedies free, In NZ we opened a donation line where funds could be donated and used to provide ongoing Homeopathic care.

Here in NZ, the scales of our disaster pales into insignificance to what is Japans reality. 
 
Here we will have to bulldoze 30% of the buildings in the CBD in CHCH, many businesses are closed, mortgages in limbo, jobs disappeared, 14,000 homes still have no electricity. 30,000 chemical toilets have been provided with more to come from the rest of the world. Globally NZ was relying on money donations from around he world which will now be spearheaded to Japan. 
 
This disaster does not only affect Japan , it is global: radiation, loss of friends and loved ones, world economy, gas prices and the list goes on and on. 
 
If anyone has any further help re remedies to use as an acute in such disasters I would like to know, for us in NZ we will be ok, I fear Japan may not.
