VADODARA: City-based homeopath Dr Hema Parikhrecently bagged the Dr N D Sindhi Memorial National Award 2016 at Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh for the services she has rendered to the needy and poor patients through homoeopathy.



Parikh, who is working as a head of department of paediatrics at the Shrimati Malini Kishore Sanghavi Hospital and Educational Complex at Karjan, has received the award for her work especially for children suffering from mental retardation andcerebral palsy.



The institute had recently inaugurated 'Ummeed Cerebral Palsy Center' sponsored by Lipoid Foundation, Germany. The team working in this centre are consulting homoeopath, paediatrician, paediatric physiotherapist, psychologist, speech therapist among others.



Medical equipment or aids bank has also been started for specially challenged children. Total 134 children are taking advantage of all the services at this centre.



Parikh was also invited for the paper presentation at Gorakhpur where she was given the national award by Gorakhpur's mayor Dr Satya Pandey, MLA Rajesh Tripathi and former homoeopathic minister of Uttar Pradesh.
