Pravin Shingare, director of DMER, said that they have sent the proposal to the state's medical education department for consideration. In 2013, when NEET was implemented for the first time, the state had decided to use the NEET merit list for admissions to other health sciences courses too. "There were students who got marks in negative too, but they were considered for admissions as there were seats in abundance unlike MBBS and BDS," said Shingare.
This year too, the state may go ahead with the same policy. Another official said it would save time and resources that would be spent on a separate CET in state for the allied courses.
While those interested in these courses, may object to a tough entry test, DMER officials said that merit ranks allotted to students will be relative.
