Of the 30 districts with lowest density of allopathic doctors, half were in north-eastern states and the remainder are in central states - including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Madhya Pradesh. Of the 30 districts with the highest density of allopathic doctors, more than half were in state capitals including seven in Delhi itself.</span></div>

<span style="color: magenta;">After intense deliberations, the stakeholders agreed to consider the specific therapies and treatment procedures along with average period of hospitalisation and rates, for the diseases which need to be treated on indoor basis. “The rates which were submitted by the AHMA keeping in view various aspects were agreed upon to be considered as benchmark rates based on which the insurance companies will soon develop customised products/ insurance policies,” said Dr Induchoodan Menon, Treatment Standardisation Committee convener of the AHMA.</span></div>

<span style="color: magenta;">The protocol and costing for at least 20 diseases like greeva sthambha (cervical spondylosis etc.), kateegraha (low back ache) & gridhrasi (sciatica etc.), apabahuka (frozen shoulder etc.), pakshaghata (paralysis etc.), kampavata (neuro-spastic conditions etc.), ardita (facial paralysis etc.), vataraktha & amavata (gouti arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis etc.), aarvanga vata  & aupthi (MND etc.), sandhigata vata (degenerative joint disorders), twak vikara (various skin diseases) have been finalised to be brought under the insurance umbrella.</span></div>

<span style="color: magenta;">Others are arsas & bhagandara (fistula, piles etc.), moothrakruchra -moothraghata-asmari (renal dysfunction, renal/ urinary calculus etc.), arthava dushti (menstrual disorders), mamsagata vikara, drishti dosha (eye diseases), sirasoola (headache, migraine etc.), swasa roga (pulmonary diseases), abhighataja vikara (restricted movements due to fracture/dislocation etc.), said Dr Menon.</span></div>

The states have been asked to enhance surveillance, capacity for laboratory diagnosis, has to conduct screening centres in outpatient departments of hospitals and earmarking isolation wards, including ventilator beds in the hospitals.Last year, the disease claimed about 1,200 lives across the country, while 23,153 persons contracted the illness till March 4, 2015, according to the health ministry.<br />To avoid attack of Swine Flu you have to follow some precautions:<br />Frequently wash your hands with soap and water.<br />when coughing or sneezing , cover your mouth and nose with a tissue if possible.<br />Dispose of Used tissues promptly and carefully.<br />Put them in a bag and then dustbin. The Ayush department, which recently held a meeting with industry representatives and insurance service providers, will soon be issuing a notification to this effect.<br /><br />The insurance sector has approved the Ayush information document, which includes Ayush system-wise index of diseases requiring hospitalisation, indicated therapies/ treatment procedures and average treatment rates for insurance coverage.<br /><br />The sector was represented by the insurance regulatory and development authority of India (Irdai), Oriental Insurance, United India Insurance, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance and Apollo Munich Health Insurance.<br /><br />The document has been prepared in consultation with the representatives of the insurance sector, Ayush research councils and hospitals. The document explicitly mentions the specific therapies and treatment procedures, along with average period of hospitalisation and rates, for the diseases that need to be treated on the indoor basis. The rates are to be considered as benchmark rates based on which the insurance companies may develop customised products/ insurance policies.<br /><br />The rates mentioned in the document may be treated as average benchmark rates and the rates for treatment in the Ayush hospitals located in the metro cities may be fixed at 25 per cent more than these average benchmark rates.<br /><br />During the meeting, suggestion was made to set up a central panel of experts that could be consulted by the insurance companies in settling the insurance claims of Ayush treatments and related matters.<br /><br />“Though the cost of Ayush treatments is lower than that of allopathy, they were not being covered by insurance due to lack of standardised treatment protocols. We have compiled a list of diseases that can be covered by the insurance sector, along with the treatment procedures and their average cost. This will be beneficial for the insurance companies in introducing products for Ayush,” said D Induchoodan, convener, treatment standardisation committee, the ayurveda hospital managements association</span><br />

NEW DELHI, JULY 20:  <br /><br />The Government is planning to have an Ayush hospital and a Yoga Wellness Centre in every district and has sought proposals from various state governments in this regard.<br /><br />The government is also exploring the idea to have one Ayush doctor stationed at all primary health centres and sub centres, Minister of State for Ayush Shripad Naik today said.<br /><br />“We have sought proposal from various state governments and some of them have replied showing their interest in it.<br /><br />Apart from that we are also working to have one Yoga Wellness Centre in every district,” Naik told reporters on the sidelines of an event of Hamdard Laboratories.<br /><br />The ministry has got proposal from 14 states, he said.<br /><br />Besides, the Government would soon inaugurate All India Institute of Ayurveda in Delhi in next 2—3 months. It would be at par with AIIMS, Naik added.<br /><br />“Land for two other proposed Ayush centres — All India Institute for Unani and All India Institute for Homoeopathy — have been alloted,” he said.<br /><br />The government has got land for the Unani centre in Ghaziabad and Narela for the Homoeopathy centre.<br />(This article was published on July 20, 2016)</span><br />

<span style="color: purple;"><br />New Delhi, July 22: Delhi University employee Somya Singh (name changed) became the victim of an eight-year itch and was on the verge of breaking off her relationship. The 29-year-old was depressed over frequent arguments with her boyfriend, but could not turn to her family for help.<br /><br />“We both thought that it will never work out,” said Somya, who has been living with her partner for three of the eight years. “I was depressed and negative. I couldn’t share it with anyone as my family did not know about the relationship. Regular fights and disagreement over issues had become a routine affair.”<br /><br /><br />She, like many other women going through troubled relationships, has turned to a Delhi University counselling facility – the Mind Body Centre.<br /><br />Started in February 2014, the centre run by the Delhi University Women Association (DUWA) received 18 cases within a month. Close to a thousand women have approached it for help so far.<br /><br />Those who can’t visit can seek assistance by phone and email. On average, nearly 50 cases are reported every month.<br /><br />Those coming forward include teachers, non-teaching staff, and even students suffering from psychological and health-related issues, according to a report by <a href="http://www.dailymail.co.uk/indiahome/indianews/article-3702129/Heartbroken-staff-students-flock-DU-s-new-relationship-clinic-women-counselling-yoga-homeopathy-treatment.html">dailymail.co.uk</a>.<br /><br />The centre also started a helpline in September 2015 that receives 40-50 calls a day. Around 80 per cent of the issues are psychological and stress-related. They tend to concern marriage, live-in relationships, and family trouble.<br /><br />“Be it trouble with their love life, married life, or family issues, we deal with all of them. Many of the girls who are in live-in relationships also come forward to know how they should go about things,” said Dr Geeta Sahare, secretary, DUWA.<br /><br />Somya says the counsellors helped revive her relationship.<br /><br />“I was able to look at the positive aspects and then get rid of the negative elements from my life. After continuous sessions with the counsellors, I managed to come out of the depression. We both are happy now,” said Somya, who is getting married soon.<br /><br />The centre also has a Naturopathy and Homoeopathy wing, as well as the counselling clinic.<br /><br />“As problems of the mind and body are interconnected, they need to be dealt with in a holistic manner by the expertise of the physicians, naturopaths and counsellors. In addition to free consultation, the practice of yoga and acupressure techniques is also used at the centre,” said Sahare.<br /><br />Specialised doctors have been appointed to provide homeopathy and naturopathy treatment to the varsity’s female students and employees. The counsellors interact with patients in a separate room to make them comfortable with the complaints they have.<br /><br />“The identities of all the visitors are kept safe,” Sahare added.<br /><br />The centre has been getting calls from students in Delhi NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh.<br /><br />Officials also said that during the admissions season, a lot of aspirants share problems pertaining to filling in online application forms and submitting them.<br /><br />Those visiting the facility have to pay an annual registration fee of Rs 50, after which they can use the services for free.<br /><br />While the homeopathy element addresses ailments like coughs and colds, hair loss, eye infections, and migraine, naturopathy considers health problems through acupressure, yoga, and colour therapy, as well as diet regulation and planning.<br /><br />The number of users is rising. As many as 53 people visited the naturopathy clinic in January last year, while the number rose to 130 in the same month this year.<br /><br />Even the homeopathy centre is gaining in popularity. While 27 people visited it in March 2014, the number went up to 152 in January 2016</span><div>
