Two (2) seats in National Institute of Homoeopathy are reserved for BIMSTEC countries. Seats for BIMSTEC countries will be kept reserved. No candidate will be allowed to get admitted from the merit list in the said two seats. In case no candidates are sponsored by ICCR / Department. Of AYUSH, Government of India, the seats shall remain vacant.   <br />

Eligibility criteria <br />
a. B.H.M.S., Graded B.H.M.S. degree from any recognized University from anywhere in India<br />
<br />
b. The candidates who have completed or will complete their rotating internship for one year after passing the B.H.M.S examination on or before 15.04.2011 are eligible to apply.<br />
<br />
c. Application for admission to MD (Homoeopathy) Courses will not be accepted unless the candidates have got themselves registered (Provisional or Permanent) with any State Council of Homoeopathy or Central Council of Homoeopathy.<br />
<br />
A candidate who is not registered with the West Bengal Council of Homoeopathy or Central Council of Homoeopathy shall have to obtain registration with West Bengal Council of Homoeopathy or Central Council of Homoeopathy within one month of admission to the PG course.<br />
<br />
d. Candidates who are already pursuing any other course are not eligible for admission till they complete the course or are likely to complete the course within 30.04.2011.<br />
<br />
<br />
Written test<br />
a. A written test will be conducted by the WBUHS to prepare category / caste-wise merit lists of the eligible candidates seeking admission to the MD (Homoeopathy) Courses.<br />
b. Applicants for admission will be provisionally allowed to appear in the written test provided they have submitted their applications in the prescribed form with requisite fees etc. and have fulfilled the eligibility criteria outlined above.<br />
c. The question paper for the written test shall be set in English and shall contain 100 single best response type Multiple Choice Questions.<br />
<br />
Pattern of Questions<br />
The following is the list showing the tentative number of questions from different subjects which will be set in the written test:<br />
1. Anatomy, Physiology, Paediatrics, F.M.T , Community Medicine, Surgery, Obst. & Gynae. , Pathology - 50 nos.<br />
2. Practice of Medicine, Case taking & Repertory, Materia Medica, Homoepathic Pharmacy and Organon of Medicine & Philosophy - 50 nos.<br />
<br />
The duration of the written test will be of 80 minutes.<br />
<br />
Marks<br />
f. A candidate will be awarded four (4) marks for each correct answer. One (1) mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer. One (1) mark will also be deducted if more than one response is given to the same question. No deduction will be made for questions not attempted.<br />
g. Candidates who will secure a minimum of 160 marks in the written test for the seats reserved for SC / ST candidates and a minimum of 200 marks for the seats of all other categories will be empanelled for selection.<br />
<br />
Multiple Choices Answering Method Through OMR<br />
The test will be objective in nature and for each question several suggested answers will be given of which ONLY one answer will be correct.<br />
The Answer Sheet will be machine-scored and therefore requires specific procedure to be followed as given below:<br />
The answers will be marked only by blue/ black ball-pen. The pencils are NOT TO BE USED.<br />
The method of marking answers is indicated below:<br />
Each question will be followed by answers marked as (a), (b), (c) or (d). Select the most appropriate answer. Then, using blue/ black ball-pen blacken the circle bearing the correct answer index against the serial number of the question on the answer sheet completely.<br />
Please note that the mark should be dark enough and the circle should be filled in as completely as possible. You need not make special efforts to darken any circle artistically.<br />

Merit list of candidates<br />
a. The rank of the candidates qualifying in the written test will be determined on the basis of the marks obtained by them in the WBPGHAT-2011. The roll numbers of the candidates qualifying in the written test will be arranged in the merit list according to rank and in order of decreasing marks in different categories.<br />
<br />
There shall be separate lists also indicating merit position for the SC / ST / Physically Challenged candidates.<br />
There will be no overall merit list.<br />
<br />
In the event of more than one candidate securing the same marks in the written test, the rank shall be determined according to the following principles:<br />
1. The relative position of such candidates in the merit list will be determined on the basis of the number of correct answers, i.e., the candidate scoring more positive marks will be placed in higher position in the merit list.<br />
2. If the ranks of the candidates cannot be determined by application of the above principle, the candidate older by age will be in the higher rank than the candidate younger by age.<br />
c. There shall be separate lists also indicating the merit wise position for the SC / ST / OBC / Physically Challenged candidates. Admission in the OB category is restricted to National Institute of Homoeopathy.<br />
<br />
Counseling for selection of candidates for admission<br />
a. Admission to Post Graduate Homoeopathy Courses will be made through personal appearance (counseling) strictly according to the time schedule to be published by WBUHS. The candidates will be called in order of merit.<br />
b. The provisional merit list as well as the date and time of counseling will be available at the notice-board of WBUHS and its website. No separate information will be sent to individual candidate in this regard.<br />
c. Candidates selected for admission through counseling shall have to get themselves admitted within the specified date to be mentioned in the offer letter to be issued after counseling.<br />
d. A candidate will have to appear in person before the selection committee on the date of counseling; otherwise he / she will be marked absent and his/ her candidature will stand cancelled.<br />
e. However, in case a candidate is unable to appear in person on the day of counseling, he/she may send his/her authorized representative with an Undertaking and Authority Letter for allotment (proforma for Undertaking and Authority Letter will be available in the University website from the day of publication of results), along with required original documents and fees. The allotment made to the authorized representative shall be binding on the candidate.<br />
<br />
Remember <br />
Do not forget to print filled in application form which is required to be submitted to the WBUHS. Please keep photocopy of those pages for your records.<br />
<br />
The print-out of the on-line application is to be sent to WBUHS office along with two photographs pasted in appropriate places, the candidate’s signature, left thumb impression, the bank-draft within the stipulated date. Please follow the instructions given in the print-outs scrupulously before resubmitting the form either personally or by registered post/ speed post/hand delivered so as to reach WBUHS on or before the date mentioned in Admission schedule.<br />
<br />
All forms submitted after the stipulated last date will be rejected without any further reference to the candidate and the fees submitted, if any, will be forfeited as processing charges.<br />
<br />
Voter ID / PAN card is required for ID verification, so even if the address differs, it is mandatory to give photocopy of the cards.<br />
<br />
The Print-copy of the application along with a crossed Demand Draft of Rs. 1000/- in favour of ‘The West Bengal University of Health Sciences’ payable at Kolkata , photographs embossed with current date after 15 February ,2011and photocopy of photo identity card (voter identity/ PAN card) is to be submitted either by hand ( on and before 3 March. 2011) or by Speed/ Registered post ( on or before 8 March, 2011 provided bank draft is made in favour of the University on or before 3 March, 2011) to the office (of the ‘Controller of Examinations, The West Bengal University of Health Sciences, DD-36, Sector-I, Salt Lake, Kolkata- 700064’. In other words, the application must reach the office of the WBUHS<br />
within the last date as mentioned in the schedule Candidate is requested to write their name and cell no. on the back of the bank draft.<br />
<br />
<br />
The following documents will have to be produced to participate in the counseling<br />
(i)   WBPGHAT Admit Card in original<br />
(ii)  BHMS Degree/ Provisional passing certificate.<br />
(iii) Internship completion certificate<br />
(vi) Permanent/ Provisional Registration Certificate issued by State Council of Homoeopathy or Central Council of Homoeopathy.<br />
(v)  School leaving certificate as proof of age<br />
(vi) BHMS chance certificate<br />
(vii)  SC/ST/PC certificate<br />
(viii) Duly accepted resignation letter from previous course, if any.<br />
(ix)   Any other relevant document.<br />
<br />
The number of seats available for allotment, with their subject-wise break-up, shall be displayed at the venue of counseling. Information in this regard may be available in WBUHS website www.thewbuhs.org prior to counseling.<br />
The candidates will have the right to choose any one of the available seats at his/ her rank at that point of time and the same will be allotted to him/ her.<br />
The allotment made will be firm and final. Change of subject is not permitted. Therefore, request for the same will not be entertained by the WBUHS after the allotment.<br />
<br />
Reservation of Seats<br />
For State Colleges viz. D. N. De Homoeopathic Medical College & Mahesh  Bhattacharya Homoeopathic Medical College<br />
Seats at the rate of 22%, 6% & 3% will be kept reserved for the SC, ST & Physically Challenged candidates.  ‘Physically Challenged’ means ‘Persons with disabilities’ as defined by MCI, i.e., 40-60% disability involving the lower limb(s) only. The government order and/ or the court directives which will be in force on the respective day of counseling will be followed for this purpose.<br />
Seats reserved for SC candidates when remaining vacant even after following the instructions laid down in the Govt. orders and notifications, shall be filled in by the ST candidates and vice-versa.<br />
Seats reserved for PC candidates in the open seats when remaining vacant even after following the instructions laid down in the Govt. orders and notifications, shall be filled in from the general merit list.<br />
<br />
For National Institute of Homoeopathy<br />
15%, 7.5% and 1% seats shall be kept reserved for the SC, ST and Physically Challenged candidates respectively as per the information furnished by the Director NIH in his letter no. F.No. 5-327/NIH/PGT/11/ADMN/2009/2009-2012/2801 dated 11th December 2008.<br />
<br />
Revaluation<br />
There is no provision for rechecking/ re-evaluation of the answer sheets and no query in this regard will be entertained.<br />
A candidate who is not registered with the West Bengal Council of Homoeopathy or Central Council of Homoeopathy shall have to obtain registration with West Bengal Council of Homoeopathy or Central Council of Homoeopathy within one month of admission to the PG course.<br />
The in-service candidates may submit applications directly, but ‘No Objection Certificate/ Sponsoring Certificate by competent authority must be submitted at the time of counselling.<br />
The website of the National Institute of Homoeopathy, www.nih.nic.in may be contacted for rules, rate of stipend and fee-structure of the Institute.<br />
The number of MD (Homoeopathy) seats to be offered for admission will be available during counseling and in www.thewbuhs.org before counselling.  <br />
