</div><div style="text-align: justify;">                                   Alopecia is a general term for loss of hair from hairy areas of the body. Hair loss, hair fall or alopecia is one of the most common problems in both genders. It starts to begin around the age of 30 in 25% of men. In most cases it develops gradually. As per reports scalp may contain about 1,00,000 hairs and normally 100 hairs may fall out every day. Except lips, palms and soles, entire body is covered by hair of varying thickness and color. It includes vellus (very thin hair and hard to see). On an average 5 million hairs are present in the whole body. There are different phases in the growth of the hair. An individual hair may grow for average of 5 years depending on the location of hair and age of the person. Then it quits growing and goes into resting phase of 12 weeks. Normally, a scalp hair grows about  inch a month during growing phase. After the resting phase hair falls out and is replaced within 6 months by a new one. The period varies from person to person. When it fails to grow a new hair, person slowly goes bald. Good blood supply to the papilla and a healthy body and mind would lead to normal hair growth. Environment, life style and food habits also play a vital role.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br>

</div><div style="text-align: justify;">The most common alopecia is baldness. It is usually due to body is failure to produce new hairs and not by excessive hair loss. It affects over 95% of people with hair loss. As people age, both men and women tend to loose hair thickness and amount, sometimes by becoming very fine and colourless vellus. Causes include aging, heredity, and higher levels of the androgenic harmone testosterone.  Bilateral receding baldness affecting both ends of forehead  affects more men than women, which is called as male pattern baldness. About 25% of men begin to bald by the time they are 30 years old and about two-thirds are either bald or have a balding pattern by age 60. The cause mainly is male harmone testosterone, because men who do not produce testosterone (because of genetic abnormalities or castration) do not develop this pattern of baldness. The typical pattern of male baldness begins at the hairline. Gradual receding hairline to form  M shape can be seen in almost all cases. In such cases remaining hair may also become finer and shorter. This is followed by thinning around the crown with eventual bald spots, ending only a pattern of horseshoe ring of hair around the sides.</div></div>

Originally, these remedies were used during acute illnesses such as scarlet fever, pneumonia and delirium. The patient feels as if he were reacting to a sudden, unexpected, life-threatening situation (illness, attack, accident, etc). The patient is in an almost “primitive” state usually accompanied by great fear and child-like reaction. There is no compensatory mechanism except fight or flight. He seeks reassurance and protection. Often mania states require remedies from the acute or typhoid miasm. Severe phobia disorders also frequently fit within this miasm.<br>

Also known as the subacute miasm. Remedies in this miasm were originally used for typhoid fever – that is high, unremitting fever often associated with prostration from violent diarrheas or other infections. The infections are slightly less rapid in their onset (like all our descriptions of Bryonia) than the remedies in the acute miasm. Now we find these remedies can be useful in a variety of chronic conditions such as colitis, Crohn’s disease, collapse states, psychosis. Patients in this miasm who have acute or recurring psychotic breaks have good prospects from homeopathic treatment. The patient feels himself to be in an urgent, life-threatening situation requiring his full capacity to survive. The patient is willing to use any means to return to a secure position: Violence, scheming, flight, lying, etc. Willful children who demand their desires so strongly that parents cave in often require remedies from this group. The patient’s goal is to conserve every resource to combat the threat. Thus materialism and business struggles are a strong component. The feeling is, “If I can just get through this crisis, I have it made and I can rest.” He seeks rest and a secure position.<br>

Mumps (epidemic parotitis) is a viral disease of the human species, caused by the mumps virus.<br>
Word “mumps” originally meant “to mumble”, and came to be applied to the disease because of the side effects it causes.<br>
Painful swelling of the salivary glands (classically the parotid gland) is the most typical presentation.  Painful testicular swelling (orchitis) and rash may also occur. The symptoms are generally not severe in children. In teenage males and men, complications such as infertility or subfertility are more common.<br>
<br>
<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: red;"><b>Pathology:- </b></span><br>
<br>
 The affected parotid glands and the surrounding tissue become hyperaemic and aedematous; some of the acinar cells disintegarate with round cell infiltration but latter, on these heal completely without any scaring.<br>

<span class="Apple-style-span" style="color: red;"><b>Signs and symptoms :-</b></span><br>
<br>
Disease incubation lasts between 17 and 21 days, and it is followed by a moderate fever and ear pain for one or two days. The child is contagious one week before symptoms and about 8 days after their occurrence. Inflammation of parotid glands first appear on one side, then both sides and is manifested by swelling covering the back of the jaw grooves. It causes pain when chewing and when parotids are pressed. Sometimes angina and affected neighboring nodes are associated. Headaches are common. Evolution is often benign and the disease regresses by itself in about ten days. Sometimes, mumps can cause testicle swelling, but that happens rarely in boys before puberty. Lack of appetite and vomiting is also very common in mumps.<br>

A Scientific ‘Working Hypothesis’ Regarding the Molecular Mechanism of Homeopathic Therapeutics</span></h2><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;">Homeopathic theoreticians till date try to explain the ‘modus operandi’ of potentized homeopathic medicines using one or other hypotheses available or evolved by them, and as such, homeopathy still belongs to a class of ‘unverified science’.</span><br>
<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;">By the term ‘hypothesis’ we mean a ‘proposed explanation’ or “educated guess” for a phenomenon that we observe around us. Every ‘proposed explanation’ cannot be considered a ‘scientific hypothesis’. To be a ‘scientific hypothesis’, the scientific method requires that one can test the hypothesis using available scientific tools and methodology. Every new scientific hypotheses are generally based on previous observations that could not be satisfactorily be explained with the existing scientific theories. The words “hypothesis” and “theory” are often used synonymously in common and informal usage, even though a ‘scientific <em>hypothesis’</em> is not exactly the same as ‘a scientific <em>theory’</em>. A hypothesis should be proved ‘using scientific tools’ in order to become a scientific theory. A ‘working hypothesis’ is a provisionally accepted hypothesis that is ready to be proved. Experimenters will have to test and reject several hypotheses before solving the given problem ultimately.</span><br>
<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;">Testability (using existing scientific tools), Simplicity (avoiding excessive numbers of entities), Scope (apparent application of the hypothesis to multiple cases of phenomena), Fruitfulness (hypothesis may help to explain further phenomena in the future), and Conservatism (fitting with existing recognized knowledge-systems) are considered to be the essential qualities of a good scientific hypothesis.</span><br>
<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;"> Viewing from this standpoint, it is very much clear that most of the presently existing most celebrated ‘theories’ or hypotheses regarding homeopathy cannot be considered ‘scientific hypotheses’ since they contain concepts and conclusions that ‘could not be tested by any scientist using currently available scientific tools and methodology’ or ‘fit with existing recognized knowledge-systems’. </span><br>
<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;"> When attempting to provide a scientific explanation to homeopathy, first we have to propose a ‘scientific hypotheses’. That means, a hypothesis that ‘could be tested by any scientist using currently available scientific tools and methodology’ and that ‘fits with existing recognized knowledge-systems’.</span><br>
<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;"> Such a working hypothesis, over and above the aforesaid qualifications, should also be immediately useful to the practitioner, because homeopathy is a therapeutic art of practical implications. Besides lending the essential scientific credibility to the homeopathic paradigm, any hypothesis we propose should try to meet some practical utility criteria as a minimum requirement.</span><br>
<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;"> There are already many imaginative and ‘scientific’ ‘theories’ going around that seek to explain everything about homeopathy but fail to predict or offer anything of relevance. If a hypothesis fail to predict some relevant practical outcomes, then it becomes scientifically untestable and, therefore, unusable in practice.</span><br>
<span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: small;"> Assumptions being proposed by a scientific hypothesis should be simple, testable and their numbers should be held to a minimum. The assumptions should also reflect the basic experience that is already generally held to be known.</span><br>

Fear of ‘suppression of disease’ that may happen from ‘improper’ use of homeopathic drugs is the most prominent symptom of any ‘classical homeopath’, which indicates severe deficiency of scientific knowledge regarding the biochemistry of life, disease and cure. This ‘phobia’ is ‘inherited’ through generations of homeopaths, from ‘teachers’ to ‘students’, and ‘gurus’ to ‘disciples’. Modern ‘Gurus’ spin fanciful ‘theories of suppressions’, write and sell heavy books on their ‘theories’, and fly around the globe to conduct ‘expensive’ seminars to ‘educate’ the homeopathic community for the sole purpose of saving humanity from grave dangers imposed by homeopathic ‘suppressions’.<br>
<br>
Those who are severely afflicted with this ‘deficiency syndrome’ will hesitate to prescribe even a single dose of potentized drug to their patient, fearing it may ‘drive in’ the disease from ‘external parts’ to ‘vital’ internal organs if the prescription somehow happens not to be the ‘most appropriate similimum’. They would shudder with fear of dangers of ‘suppression’ if somebody says they have applied some external ointments on eczematous lesion on the skin. According to them, homeopathic drugs are so ‘powerful’ and ‘dangerous’ that an inappropriate or untimely dose of a potentized drug may even kill the patient, or create irreversible disabilities. ‘Better not to prescribe, than prescribing wrongly and causing suppressions’.<br>

          This name is applied to an affection of the skin characterized by little black points corresponding to the openings of the sebaceous follicles.  If the skin in the neighborhood of these specks be squeezed between the finger-nails, the sebaceous plug which fills the follicles will be pressed out.  This affection is more frequent in youth and adolescence than at any other ages.   The glands of the face are the ones that are chiefly affected. The causes of comedo are probably similar to those which lead to the development of ordinary acne simplex, in company with which affection they are usually found, though they sometimes exist without any inflammatory complication.  One author holds that comedones in children differ from those of adults in being mainly dependent on local causes, on their greater tendency to group and to be more closely set, in their involving the hairy scalp, and finally to their being generally readily amenable to treatment, all that is usually required being friction with a weak soft soap and spirit liniment, or a weak sulphur application may be employed in mild cases, preceded by fomentation with very hot water.<br>

Is it vijaykar’s invention? Ayush Dept – On perusal of the inspection reports of the inspections as carried out by the CCH inspectors/ visitors of some of the existing/ newly established Homoeopathy Medical Colleges, it has been found that many medical colleges are not fulfilling the minimum standards, norms of CCH with regard to availability of infrastructure, teaching and non-teaching staff. Similarly, Central Government has also received complaints in this regard. This scenario gives apprehension that there may be possibility of growth of substandard education. Similarly, the existence of such substandard colleges may create a possibility of adopting malpractices and unfair practices by the colleges.<br>

To ensure the quality of Homoeopathy medical education and safeguarding the interest of students, it is necessary to adopt urgent measures to regularly monitor the Homoeopathy Medical Colleges. In each Homoeopathy Medical College every year minimum four examinations,i.e., 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th BHMS Professional Courses are being conducted. In view of the objective of the HCC (Amendment) Act,2002 to ensure imparting of quality education, to inspect the Homoeopathy Medical College at least once in a year appears to be essential. Therefore, in order to preserve the conformity and spirit of the HCC Act, 1973 specifically read with the provisions of section 17 & 18 and with the provision of Regulation 6(2) and 10(2) of HCC (Inspector and Visitation) Regulations, 1982, Central Government desires that with immediate effect CCH may carry out the following:- To carry out the inspection/ visitation of all Homoeopathy Medical Colleges minimum once in a year during January to March of each calendar year to ascertain the availability of teachers, equipment, accommodation, training and other facilities as specified in Homoeopathy(MSE) Regulations, 1983 and submit their report and recommendation to the Central Government by the end of April every calendar year.<br>

One of my grandsons was diagnosed to be 100 percent  congenitally hearing impaired when he was 6 months old. BERA test was done at MIMS hospital, Kozhikode, Kerala, and they advised immediate cochlear implant, and they warned that unless it is done immediately, the child will become totally deaf and dumb.<br>
The infant was having a complaint of infantile myoclonus since birth, which was treated by myself homeopathically and completely relieved by the time he was three months old.<br>
