While Rs 7.50 crore was allocated for the modernisation of Homeopathy Department, Rs 7.30 crore was sanctioned for special health protection centres.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Envisaging the comprehensive development of homoeopathy sector in the state, the government on Monday 4th june 2018 sanctioned of Rs 24.90 crore towards various initiatives.

Health Minister K K Shylaja said that the amount will be used to enhance the treatment and infrastructure facilities. “Rs1.10 crore has been earmarked to set up new homoeopathic hospitals and dispensaries. Rs 3 crore has been allocated for the construction and renovation of homoeopathic institutions,” the minister said.

While Rs 7.50 crore was allocated for the modernisation of Homeopathy Department, Rs 7.30 crore was sanctioned for special health protection centres. The government has also allocated Rs 75 lakh for Kerala State Homeopathic Cooperative Pharmacy and Rs 25 lakh for Janani infertility clinic.

Shylaja said with this homoeopathic hospitals will be raised to NABH standards and will be made as model clinics. Clinical labs will be established at hospitals and e-governance will be introduced.
